If you are up in the Midlands with your motorhome, you may like to get some Alton Towers half price tickets. So here’s why you should go to Alton Towers:
I love theme parks. I love them all but Alton Towers Theme Park has got to be up there with the best on offer.
If, like me, you love thrill rides Alton Towers has a total of 9 to make you scream with pleasure! From ‘Rita’, (the ride that sends you from 0-100kph in 2.5 seconds), to the never aging ‘Nemesis’ there is enough here to keep wondering whether spare underwear may have been a good idea!
One of the most talked about rides is ‘Oblivion’. This ride takes you to a height of 55 meters (180ft) to a vertical drop, reaching nearly 112kph (70mph) through and underground tunnel before reaching a sudden stop some 76 seconds later. Don’t be fooled by the short ride time, as it’s only half the time it will take you to catch your breath.
New for 2010 is the much anticipated ‘Th13teen’ ride. This ride is conventional in most ways except it has a world first. It drops vertically! Not in the same way ‘Oblivion does, it actually drops the whole train horizontally. Oh, and then you are sent backwards.
Under the ‘Laughs and Frights’ heading there are a total of 11 rides. The ever-popular haunted house is here but with a twist. In ‘Duel’ you have to battle the ghosts within. On a hot summers day you will love getting wet on the ‘Congo River Rapids’ then climb aboard the ‘Runaway Mine Train’. Then there is ‘Haunted Hollow’. This is not a ride but in fact a walk through with loads of surprises to scare you. When you have recovered the ‘Skyride’ will take you on a breath taking view of the parks rides, attractions and gardens.
As well as the main park there is also Alton Towers Water Park. Here you can relax under the waterfall in ‘Lagoona Bay’ or Gently float down the ‘Lazy River’. Perhaps you would prefer lying back in the Bubble Pools before testing your skill in the Wacky Water Works Tree House or splashing down one of the 3 fantastic water slides. This is all for just the one entry fee and cheaper still if you have your Alton Towers half price tickets.
However you would like to spend the day, Relaxing or thrill seeking, Alton Towers has got to be top of your list.
Alton Towers is accessible from either the M1 or the M6 on the A50 between Stoke and Uttoxeter. For Satellite Navigation the postcode is ST10 4DB.
So if you are out and about in your motorhome, get some Alton Towers half price tickets and just have a great day.
