With four campers on board there’s ample room inside the Autoquest 300. You should find the seating comfortable too and night time illumination of the interior is well sited. A large roof light placed over the main living area assists in providing more daylight and ventilation. On entering, you’ll immediately find yourself inside the compact kitchen with the washroom in front of you on the offside rear corner. On your left, there’s a kitchen cupboard and drawer unit. Working down the living area towards the cab, you’ll see a bench seat on your left with the four-seater dinette on your right, which comes with a foldaway table.
Although small, the kitchen does come well-equipped with a Spinflo Caprice 2040 cooker which features a four-burner gas hob, oven and grill. An Electrolux 77-litre fridge with full-width freezer also comes as part of the package as does, of course, a stainless steel sink and drainer. This sink has a hinged folding laminate cover which helps in providing more preparation area. There’s ample provision for food, crockery and cutlery storage.
The dinette seats make up the double bed but anyone over six-foot could have some difficulty in getting comfy, because the seat belt anchorage point somewhat encroaches on your space. If you push the driver’s seat forward to its maximum point, you can make the most of the space available. The single bed made up from the bench seat is fine and it’s very tempting to leave the double overcab bed made up due to the fact that making it up is such an arduous task.
Inside the spacious end washroom, you’ll find the usual Thetford swivel-bowl manual flush toilet, shower mixer tap and shower tray. Lighting is excellent during the day through the smoked-glass window and after-dark through a well-placed light. There’s a large fitted mirror over the basin for shaving.
The Elddis Autoquest 300 is up against a lot of competition in its market sector. It’s well-equipped and impressively-built, but the relatively compact size of the main double bed may dissuade some potential buyers.
Self contained, you can literally park and enjoy the 300 almost anywhere! Measuring the same “footprint” as a medium sized van, power assisted steering and economical 2.2ltr Turbo diesel engines makes the 300 very easy to drive and park.
