Buying A Used Caravan

You have found the van of your dreams - now you need to check it over. Never be scared to admit you're a novice and pick the
brains of someone more experienced. A reputable dealer will offer sound advice but also remember that it's his job to sell
caravans! When you visit the dealer, go armed: in particular take a torch, a tape measure, a tyre depth gauge and a notebook.
And, if you have one, a mirror on a long arm - the type you can get from motorists' accessory shops. And don't forget the warranty. When you're buying a secondhand caravan for anything over £5000, you are entitled to expect a warranty which is better than three months' parts and labour, even if it includes water ingress and delamination. Don't be frightened to haggle for decent cover.
