Motorhome Rental Scotland
Motorhome rental Scotland is a rapidly growing area of growth for us, nearly as much as motorhome hire London in some circumstances. So here is an extract of some motorhome rental Scotland ideas.
Glasgow, Skye and the Highlands. Follow the famous West Highland Way as you leave Glasgow and head north past the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond, this was one of the first parts of Scotland I ever discovered on a cheap motorhome hire holiday.
The Munro mountains are in the ruggedly beautiful Glen Coe, This was the site of the notorious massacre of the MacDonald clan in 1692.
From Glen Coe you are a short distance to Fort William, the Outdoor Capital of the UK, which lies in the shadow of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest summit at 4,409ft. The wonderful Glen Nevis, one of the highlands most impressive glens, is the starting point for the ascent of the mountain and has been used as a location for films such as Braveheart and Rob Roy.
If you travel west from Fort William along the “Road to the Isles” and take time to look at the spectacular 21 arch Glenfinnan Viaduct, you may recognize it from the Harry Potter films. There are also some of the most spectacular beaches in Europe stretched along the Sound of Arisaig.
The final stretch of your motorhome rentals journey sees you going “Over the sea to Skye” on the ferry. Personally I love Skye and I have been over there a few times in various motorhomes for hire.
From Armadale on the southern tip of Skye you can then explore this amazing island, taking in the spectacular Cuillin Ridge and the Red Hills, the Trotternish peninsula or perhaps a visit to the Talisker whisky distillery. I’ve always found something wonderfully spooky about Skye, not scary just a little spooky.
