What I forgot to take with me on my motorhome holiday!

I reckon there are probably more people thinking about a motorhome holiday this summer than ever before. My situation is a little different as I am writing this web site at the same time as being on holiday. However these are the things that I forgot:

  1. My washing line, where we are staying in Vinaros Camping in The Costa del Azahar there is fantastic glorious sunshine most days, so washing clothes is no problem as we just wash stuff by hand and then hang it up between the trees in our plot. However this time I forgot to bring my washing line, a quick trip to the local supermarket was all we needed to do to get a 2,50€ washing line.
  2. Stuff to read: although this particular campsite has a pretty good ’self recycling’ library – a lot of the books and magazines that get left behind are in Dutch or German, there isn’t that much written in English. These is a peculiar part of Spain that has been reasonably left alone by the UK tourists, so consequently there are not many newsagents stocking UK reading matter.
  3. The USB lead for my video camera: I have a JVC Everio GZ-37 hard disk camcorder and it would have been really nice to upload a few photos and videos to my blog or even here. I could actually go to the Sabeco supermarket over the road and buy one for 9€ – but this always feels wrong when you know you have one at home. Similarly…
  4. My Nokia phone charger: I brought the one to charge the phone from the 12V cigarette lighter socket, but it would have probably have made more sense to have one that runs from mains so I could use it in the van.
  5. Travel Insurance: yes believe it or not we just didn’t bother….this was probably an oversight, if you need travel insurance…take it out before you leave home!
